Are getting ready to repaint some rooms in your home and are wondering what the interior paint color trends for 2020 are?
Read on
to find out…
At the end of each year, paint manufacturers predict what the upcoming year’s popular paint colors will be. And although each manufacturer has its own method of predicting what the new "in colors" will be, the environment, current events, fashion and pop-culture, and even technology and architecture play a big role in their predictions.
The interior paint color of the year pick by the famous Pantone Color Institute is always a highly anticipated event. Founded in 1963, Pantone is considered to the industry leader in color. This year, their color experts searched for a shade that would bring a sense of calm to the world - they chose a timeless hue called Classic Blue.
Admittedly, the deep shade of blue evokes a tranquil feeling and is considered one of the most soothing shades.
Benjamin Moore chose First Light
Benjamin Moore’s First Light 2102-70 is a soft shade of pink that continues the trend of rosy hues featured as 2020 colors of the year, including Valspar’s Bombay Pink and Romance by HGTV Home.
The color reflects “a shift in mindset from the material to satisfying the core needs in life: community, comfort, security, self-expression, authenticity, and ultimately, optimism,” says Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore director of color marketing and development.
The pastel pink joins a list of nine other colors to round out Benjamin Moore’s Color Trends 2020 palette, including White Heron, Crystalline, Windmill Wings, Buxton Blue, Golden Straw, Thunder, Cushing Green, Oxford Gray, and Blue Danube.
Consider First Light as a new neutral—the shade is subtle
enough to be used on every wall in a living room or bedroom—and pair it with
bright white or beige decor.
Valspar

Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year 2020 is "Naval" Navy Blue
Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams says “We’re predicting that the next decade in color is going to be bold.” “Naval merges the desire for rich, inspiring color with our yearning for relaxation and retreat.”
Paint your walls with Naval and couple with crisp white trim work for a relaxing retreat, or make a splash in a contemporary kitchen with Naval cabinetry.
In addition, Sherman Williams has introduced us to 45 colors for 2020, arranged into 5 intuitive palettes that bring “joy, serenity and focus to the mind, body and spirit” according to their spokesperson. The pallets are Alive, Mantra, Play, Haven, and Heart.
Behr chose "Back to Nature".
The Behr 2020 Color Trends palette was inspired by natural elements such as sky, earth, water, and plant life. Seasonal changes and world exploration also played a role in color selection. Each hue works well alone or in combination to create a unique look for your home and style
